I think it's a damn shame that butts are almost always considered sexual or gross. Why can't they just be butts more often?

I can't even find a good example image, so just have a Q&A with nudists being casual

The only example I can think in media which isn't just "guy butts are funny/gross"/"girl butts are sexy" is this scene in Gumball where Anaïs locks her micromanaging babysitter brother outside and casually shows off that she's wearing underpants instead of a diaper. But at the same time, it doesn't really transgress when the character is a 4 year old.
Butts do all kinds of casual things. They sit on things, they itch, they get warm and cold, they can paint. idk what else do butts do?

Actually, while writing that, I did remember two possible examples:

Happiness and Cyanide - The Man who could Sit Anywhere
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHKiGl02NmU
A short animation sketch about sitting. There's only one butt drawing, and the conversation at the end is just "haha ass" junk we're trying to avoid, but it's relatively casual asswork here, I can appreciate it.

There's also the Regular Show 'one-cheek wonder' scene, which again is a bit too 'haha ass' for this thread, but it's more about something happening to an ass than the ass itself being a punchline, and we need something to start with.

There's a larger conversation to be had here about cultural attitudes towards nudity in general. In my experience, Brits and their spawn are far more ashamed of their bodies and sex.
My school had Japanese as a language class and we watched My Neighbor Totoro. The teacher felt obliged to preface that the bathroom scene (where a father and their two children share a bath) to point out it's culturally normal there and not perverted, perhaps student probably complained in previous years (as happened with Cast Away, which my sixth year class was no longer allowed to watch after a parent complaint). And looking at a quick web search of the scene and how many people are complaining about it in English, I'd say she was validated.

The issue is mainly that people don't get to see naked butts very often except in contexts that are either sexual or gross. Media reflects the culture it is from.

Now, to be clear, I don't think that nudists are being entirely honest with themselves when they say that it's not sexual for them. Sure, the component that finds nudity appealing because it's forbidden could fade away, but it is still a fact that people look a lot better when they don't have clothes on. Perhaps this is not the sort of repression-induced sexuality that dominates the lives of humans in this cursed century, but it is a form of sexuality nonetheless.

I will say that one of my favorite memories was getting naked in the woods, but that was more because there was nobody around for miles and I could do whatever I wanted. Dunno how I'd feel about engaging in social activities while naked. Might not be so bad.

>Totoro
I live in Argentina and I've seen a couple of nude scenes in movies of families with children but in all their contexts are family-childhood-childhish moment, I guess the same thing happens with Totoro is just a casual scene of a Japanese family with a father alone with his daughters.
I never see anything sexual in this because you can barely see a bit of the torso or back. although I know that there are movies that emphasize nudism or erotic parts (and sometimes are outcontext or fuckedup bacause pedo directors)
The Europeans used to do it until a couple of years ago and sometimes they still do it.
>Something like pic
I think people here do not see bad nudism even with children up to a certain limit for exposing children to the movies. The INCAA (National Cinema Guys Of regulations-control of Argentina) regulates those things, back in time they did it more I think...
The few conservative or Christian people I think don't see this as a bad thing either, at least in my experience. if it does not become morbid because of exaggerated fake-news.

I would take issue with this and the reason is that one time I decided to visit a nude beach.

Noooo you can't acknowledge that children are naked all the time!! ANY depiction of nude children is DISGUSTING P*DOPHILIA. What's next, admitting to ourselves that teenagers are horny and have secondary sex characteristics?

Now imagine if they had clothes on. Yuck!

Do you think hunter-gatherers in mostly nude societies like in pic would agree with that?
Thing is, we simply live in an overly sexualized culture where the only places you can see nudity is porn, artistic nude photography/paintings, or waldrobe malfunctions in daily life. The last two are obviously not inherently sexual though, but when your entire culture revolves around the idea that nudity is the holy grail of all relationships, that when you see someone naked it means they are fine with having sex with you, it becomes impossible to not see them as such.

If they thought people looked sexier in clothes, wouldn't they dress up when they're trying to woo each other?

Sexual desire is a pretty core part of the human condition, I think you're deluded if you think people living in those societies aren't checking each others' bits out from time to time, and enjoying the fact that they're naked for this reason.

I will not contest this point, but I will emphasize: clothes can be sexier than nudity, in many ways.

Like >>14983 says, most or all of us here live in societies that repress yet prize nudity, and despite that, I reckon I could post a picture of the same person nude and in certain outfits and you'd consider the outfits more sexy. Not in a 'covering up ugly' way, not in a 'this clothing is my fetish' way, but because of what the clothing symbolizes and signals, or even just simply how it complements the body.

Sure, they might get the urge to check each other out when they are going through puberty, that's only natural. But these people are surrounded by other naked people their whole life from the moment they are born, and couple that with the fact that in most such cultures the people lose their virginity as young as 13 or 14, and it'd be strange for them to still feel some sexual urge from merely seeing an uncovered nipple.
It's like when you watch too much porn and can't get turned on by normal stuff anymore, it's like that except without the fake dopamine that watching porn releases in your brain.

>it'd be strange for them to still feel some sexual urge from merely seeing an uncovered nipple.
It would be strange if they got a sexual thrill from the fact that a nipple was revealed, but not weird at all for them to get hot & bothered when they see a chest they like.
Heck, where I live it's pretty normal for men to go shirtless and always has been, and while it might dampen someone's appraisal of a male stripper, a naked chest can certainly get you going in a way a clothed one just don't.
>clothes can enhance sexiness
This is true, but I think except for some specific circumstances (uniforms that denote some special significance) almost all sexy clothing is sexy because it teases nudity.

I think John Lennon and Yoko Ono have the worst butts I have ever seen. But in their case they were being artsy and dada.
If you want something more 'butt of the joke' my memory itches about a cartoon called Assy McGee.

As to the larger conversation at hand
Being born without clothes is the natural state. Only the reactions of the perverts, the prudes, the ashamed, the desperate, the modern man, etm is damnable. Damned are those who malign the beauty of nature.

<it was canceled after two seasons due to negative reviews from people, even the show's creators.
