If it were an elephant I might believe it!

I watched this when I was too young to appreciate, but there's a lot of skill in the animation and vfx. Given the situation and medium, of course.

It sounds like they've made the "sounds so nice, you say it twice" line rhyme in each dub. I wonder what the differences are.

Turkish sounds like French people speaking gibberish. I love that they translated the back vocals in every dub with the same enthusiasm.

Madagascar 2 is Dreamworks flexing the money they got from the first movie.
On the topic of dubs, I've heard that Billy & Mandy was especially popular in Latin America broadcast, not simply because of the macabre themes but because the voice acting of their dub was outstanding. Although they are shocked to realize that Grim has a Jamaican accent in the original audio.

I do not have an citation for this claim.

Hey hi! I'm from Argentina and I watched Billy Mandy as kid, I don't remember anyone with a Jamaican accent in the Spanish dub... Although I remember that the dubbing was so varied and incredibly good that I'm sure it had strange accents at times. (The dubbing of current series leaves much to be desired, although sometimes the jokes can only be understood in their original language.)

Does Jamaican sound like the trolls tribe in World of Warcraft? I have no idea what it's supposed to sound like. I've heard Jamaicans speak a couple of times on videos, and I'm not sure that grim sound like that, but it makes sense in english...
Or something like Jacob from GTA:IV?

Before they found an actor, the voice was supposed to be a British one. Greg Eagles (original voice actor) was playing with deep voices for the role and tried a take inspired by Geoffrey Holder's voice, Geoffrey was born in Trinidad.

But most people in my region are ignorant about the Caribbean beyond reggae music, so they just call all those accents 'Jamaican' anyway.

Grim also says some stereotypical words differently: 'dem'->them, 'tings'->things, 'mon'->man.

Jacob from GTA:IV definitely has a far stronger accent, plus their voice actor was actually from a Jamaican family.

Greg Eagles describes it as "Jamaican".

This scene I would say illustrates Grim and Aunt Kali putting on a "Jamaican" accent.

Although I wonder if it's more obvious to English-first-language viewers, just like you'd probably have a better chance at picking the difference between a Colombian or a Peruvian accent than me.

I've always loved that episode for its final gag, 'cuz I never liked the gag that it parodies. Good food is good regardless of its ingredients.
