where does the soul go after brain damage? an old friend of mine become retarded after surviving meningitis. he lost 50% of his brain or sth like that, and altho he's alive, I know it's not the same person, and he would hate if he saw himself like that, due to his personality and the everything we know about him. so it's like he is dead, it's not him anymore, only basics function of the brain survived. is the soul gone in these cases?
