I think discordianism as spiritual framework is well suited to coming decades, compareded to popular religions and ideologies, even those competing in same weight class and ecological niche as discordianism. That being said, I don't think discordianism should even seek to compete at this time being. Discordianism is diffused all around the culture, and by cultivating symbiotic relationships with emerging cultural movements like horse carcass lovers, discordians are in a prime position to streer them to fullfill discordian goals. This is also why I find all the discussion of totalitaric forms of discordianism distasteful, since although hierarchically enforced discordianism as an oxymoronic concept titilates my wrongthink brain, it occludes the relatively rare ability discordianism has of being able to coexist within other frameworks individual has, and even harmonize them creating unique iterations of meme collectives riding their human hosts, rather than leaving their brains as either barren battlegrounds where conflicting ideas try to establish a foothold, or strongholds for individual memes from where they plan and commit their invasions into neighbouring skulls.
