Last post czar made on pleroma seems to have been july 19, so it can't have been very long that the server has not been tended.

I sent an email to chaotic.ninja's sysadmin who apparently knows czar, hopefully that all works out.

Welp it happened that kalli.st 5 YOLD party was too chaotic...

njalla stopped supporting .st domains without notice and after expiration it went back to the registar hold

I'm really bad about letting this happen and would like you to accept my most sincere apologies.

Now what we can do is wait about one month for it to be hopefully released and buy it back...

In the meantime I'm migrating some pages to https://fnord.systems/

I too rely too much on kalli.st e-mail and losing it is not an option.

I mean we can't expect to have a shrine to our lady go smoothly. njalla is known for being an anon domain registration site, so if remaining anon is a condition of reregistering then be sure to look around for another service to re-register on before the magic date arrives.

Looks like you might need to wait up to 45 more days to get the domain back. Otherwise you have to send the .st registry 90 euros to get the domain. https://kb.registry.st/domains/domain-life-cycle/

What's the situation? Is the previous owner uncontactable?

Because if so, that makes any migration attempt (email, git, etc) a shitshow, most likely needing to be done by each user through Tor.

the domain expired last night, it looks like someone already registered it directly with the .st registry. Hopefully that someone is either Czar or a friendly that plans to hand it over to Czar and have it point to the kalli.st server.

If not, they're probably squatting the domain and we have no way to contact them.
