Hey skidoo!, if you can read this book of Picrel, read it. It's very interesting and even has quotes to get you started on magic from the perspectives of Crowley, RAW, some mysteries and secrets, as well as more quotes and info from very interesting books. At the end, it even has quotes from books or studies on scientific research into drugs and the mind, as well as current memetic socio-meta-politics.
If you know about Kabbalah, I recommend paying attention to some quotes from RAW at the end of some mentions. You may even find more information in another of his books.
